Toy Drive Highlights Year's Final Twilight Cruise at Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum
Santa Claus delivering toys in a cool '32 Ford Roadster? Only at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and only during the final Twilight Cruise Night of the year, which doubles as a local toy drive. Set for Wed., Dec. 1, those attending are asked to bring toys for needy children throughout the Pomona Valley.
"There's always a need for gifts for underprivileged young teenagers, such as CD players, hair dryers and sports equipment," said Sam Jackson, executive director of the Parks Museum. "Those who can donate cash will find that their money goes a long way. Cal-Rods, our host car club for Cruise Nights, purchases gifts for the children at wholesale rates."
Jackson said he has already started to place gifts around the Wally statue in the Museum's lobby. "I hope you will join Wally Parks, hundreds of street rodders and me in supporting this great cause."
The event, which runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is hosted by the Cal Rods club, attracts nearly 1,000 people and includes raffles and a huge 50/50 drawing.
