National Hot Rod Reunion is Perfect Father's Day Treat Features Fun, Folks and Fast Times
Has your dad ever worn the tie you gave him? Used up the aftershave? Opened that book? The third annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Finishes, coming to Bowling Green, Ky. over Father's Day weekend is a chance to give dad something he'll really enjoy.
"The National Hot Rod Reunion is the real deal - an authentic, one-of-a-kind American car lover's dream. It's like visiting a museum come to life," said Sam Jackson, director of the Wally Park NHRA Motorsports Museum. "Legendary drag cars from the past are push started just like in the old days, fabled race drivers are available to talk to and sign autographs. People aren't just spectators at the Reunion, they're participants, which makes it an ideal place to treat Dad to a Father's Day he won't forget."

Held at Beach Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky., the Hot Rod Reunion has just been named by the Kentucky Tourism Council as a "Summer Top Ten Event." The Reunion includes a wide variety of activities and events, including NHRA vintage drag racing featuring famous and historic cars and drivers, Street rod "show and shine with thousands of gleaming pre-1972 hot rods, custom cars, and muscle cars, Cruise Night through historic Bowling Green on Thursday, National Hot Rod Reunion Reception on Friday evening, June 17, a concert by Gary Lewis and The Playboys on Sat., June 18, 5 -7 p.m., Cacklefest on Saturday evening where nitro-burning historic top-fuel dragsters are push started just like in the "old days," swap meet and Reunion Midway filled with manufacturer exhibits and demonstrations. There's even an old fashion amusement park with rides and games for all ages adjacent to the park.

Proceeds of the Holley Hot Rod Reunion, presented by DuPont Automotive Finishes, will benefit the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. Named for the founder of the National Hot Rod Association, the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California houses the very roots of hot rodding. Scores of famous vehicles spanning American motorsports history are on display, including winning cars representing 50 years of drag racing, dry lakes and salt-flat racers, oval track challengers and exhibits describing their colorful backgrounds.
