Hot rods, custom car shows, bikes and drag racing have always been a sanctuary for Los Angeles artist Coby Gewertz. However, as the hot rod culture's popularity boomed, purity in the industry has become harder to find. To feed the souls of the faithful who share his devotion to our blessed lady of internal combustion, Gewertz presents: "Church"- a new brand aimed straight at auto aficionados.
"Church is an ongoing manifestation of my insomnia. Conceived, designed and funded by myself during my off hours of my day job," Gewertz said. "It's one man's attempt to steer clear of the scene, and keep the focus on the machines themselves. I have finally found a way to combine my passion for all things automotive and my endless pursuit of quality design." Eight T-shirt designs featuring simple, strong and passionate design work, proving that more is not always best, are currently available.
Gewertz will soon be releasing "Church," volume 1, issue 1 - a 52-page, small-format, limited-edition collector's magazine, and a series of ultra limited edition prints are also in the works.
