Small & Mighty
Tuff Stuff Performance Accessories is making engine swaps easier with mini gear-reduction starters for Ford, Olds, and Pontiac engines. Not only are these starters up to 1/3 smaller and 40-percent lighter than stock units, but they allow multi-indexing, meaning the starter can be positioned on its base and rotated to whatever position works best for you. This makes them problem solvers for tight clearance applications. Available in up to 2.6 hp, the starters were developed for high-compression race engines and will spin anything from a 260ci small-block to a 455-incher with ease. They're unaffected by heat, can be ordered in a chrome or black finish, and are made in the USA. For more information, call Tuff Stuff at (800) 331-6562, or visit www.tuffstuffperformance.com.

LS Simplicity
Chevy's LS-series V-8s deliver loads of power, plenty of torque, and great fuel mileage, so it's easy to see why they're becoming favorites for rodders and customizers. To make installation easier in vintage vehicles, Welder Series Inc. offers LS1 engine mounts in ready-to-weld pieces. The mount kits (PN WSLS200) include frame mounts that let you position the engine at the height you want, and urethane bushings to insulate the engine from the frame. Welder Series has done the design and cutting work; you weld them together to save yourself a few bucks. For more information on these and other do-it-yourself chassis parts, contact Welder Series at (888) 648-2150, or visit www.welderseries.com.
Better Binders
One benefit of "standardized" aftermarket rod parts is the options available for them. For instance, just about any car with a Mustang II-style front suspension on it can benefit from these powerful Wilwood disc brakes. They deliver big stopping power from forged, four-piston Superlite calipers, high cooling efficiency from GT-series rotors, and lightweight mounting through aluminum hats on strong forged billet hubs. Configured for '74-80 Pinto and '74-78 Mustang II disc brake spindles, the brakes use BP-10 compound Smart Pads for quiet engagement and low dust performance on the street, with fast response, superb friction, and high fade resistance for spirited braking sessions. All this, and they fit inside a variety of 15-inch-or-larger rims. For more information, contact Wilwood at (805) 388-1188, or visit www.wilwood.com.
Get A Grip
Grip your shifter like you mean it with a pistol grip-style Grab A Gear handle. The patented design lets you shift with a more natural arm and wrist movement, and has radiuses where it counts to get the grip you need. The handles are machined from 2024 billet aluminum and are protected with clear powdercoating or a variety of available colors. An optional aircraft-grade button can be had for roll control or line lock applications. Designed and machined in the USA, Grab A Gear knobs are available in popular thread sizes for most manual or automatic shifters. Restore The Bling
One of the many ways American automakers cut costs in the 1960s was by using chrome-plated plastic instead of metal for interior parts like dash bezels and armrest bases. Over time, the shiny finish has a tendency to fade and flake, which is why Just Dashes now offers a service to re-chrome such parts. Minor cracks and breaks in the plastic-and sometimes even large damaged areas-can be repaired prior to plating, and Just Dashes' craftsmen can complete the restoration with any necessary painting or other detailing. For more information on this and other interior restoration services, contact Just Dashes at (800) 247-3274, or visit www.justdashes.com.
Coiled & Ready
In a quest to make more tunable suspensions, Heidt's Hot Rod Shop is offering Superide adjustable billet coilover shocks. Now, in addition to being able to tune spring rates using threaded lower spring seats, you can also adjust the shock's rebound via a 10-position knob. Made in the USA, the coilovers are available in clear anodized or polished finishes, and include polished top cones, black urethane or spherical bushings set up for either 1/2- or 5/8-inch bolts, and 5/8-inch hard chrome shafts. Front and rear applications are available, and include chrome-plated springs in 160- to 700lb rates. For more information, contact Heidt's Hot Rod Shop at (800) 841-8188, or visit www.heidts.com.
